		Spotted Turtle Clemmys guttata I’m here catching up with Mike Bottini, one the East End’s best know field ecologist, writer and long time advocate for the environment. For the past four years Mike has been directing a long-term study of our native Spotted Turtle. The study site is in upper salt marsh somewhere in Amagansett, NY.
		These turtles, along with their unique habitat, are being threatened by human transportation and development. New York State has listed the Spotted Turtle as a "species of special concern."
